One of the many things we do here at Ketterman’s is custom work and design; creating meaningful personalized pieces that are unique to you. We can start from an idea in your mind or on apper (or a screen) or by redesigning a sentamental piece. A gentleman was getting ready to retire and his friend wanted to do something special for him. She had his signature "Z" and we were able to create a pair of cufflinks made out of 14k white gold and the "Z" set on top of blue lapis!! A customer who recently moved to Virginia enjoyed mining gold as a hobby while living in California. He had some gold nuggets that he wanted to use to create a jewelry piece for his daughter. We sculpted the nuggets into a cross and there were still some left over for when he is ready to make one for his grandson!
For Mother's Day a father came in looking for a last minute (Saturday-the day before) gift for his wife. He wanted something that would represent their child. In the same day our jewelers built a custom necklace using this traditional inital pendant with an open circle next to it to add a little character.
A customer purchased a black opal ring on a trip to Australia. She found a matching pendant here at Ketterman's a couple years ago and wanted a pair of earrings to complete the set. Not finding anything in the store, the Kettermans left for the JCK show with a mission to find a pair of opals to mount into an earring setting to match her beautiful pendant. They finally found this gorgeous pair of black opals that has a stunning iridescent green to it to match her square ring and oval pendant perfectly. Just gorgeous!
